Financial Planning is in essence Transition Planning. In an ideal world we could anticipate the future and plan accordingly. But we all know that life is full of surprises. While we follow the standard CFP® Planning Process for all engagements we will vary our approach depending on the type of engagement.
Unexpected transitions are often accompanied by emotional stress which can lead to a decline in your cognitive ability and often requires extra consideration. In cases of unplanned transitions such as a divorce or the death of a spouse we will sometimes use financial triage until your situation stabilizes and you are ready to move forward.
